Fountain Rock Spring
According to an old Indian legend, a certain brave warrior was severely wounded in battle and was left to die beside a large rock. Fortunately for him, he was found by a young Indian maid. As the old tale goes, the warrior requested a drink of water. When this dark-eyed “angel of mercy” could not find water to drink or to bathe bloody wounds, she took a large stick and out of desperation, struck the huge boulder. Immediately, this limestone rock released a stream of cool pure water. The young brave warrior recovered and from that time on, this source of “living water” was known to the Indians as “BAI-YUKA,” or in the English language, “FOUNTAIN ROCK.”
